It was Thursday .
Thursday when we got the keys
when we first crossed the threshold of our new home.
entered through the sturdy sage door,
entered the peach hallway with its cascading wooden staircase,
daubed timber panels, seasoned beneath
Above the door, the mullioned glazing promulgates 18
If those walls could speak, what tales would they tell of days long ago…
Of times past before I knew
and what will they tell of the future
memories yet to happen
Home at last.

I have a wonderful family, spread right around the earth,
If you asked me their value I couldn’t possibly say what they’re worth.
We are bound by invisible connections and fibre optic support.
My family may not be perfect, just thoughtful, loving and caring
always there in the time of need,
ready to laugh or embrace and plant a loving seed.
My family is loud and boisterous, may be a little noisy too,
they can be judgmental, but hey, that’s what they were put here to do.
My family comes in all shades, and sizes red, brown, yellow and some mixed folks too,
there’s no limit on family make up just to please me and you.
This family has so many talents, creators, leaders, teachers, and mentors
Mums dads sisters and brothers whatever, they are all adored.
There is so much value in this family, so much aptitude and esteem
I’m just so proud to be a part of this family if you are you’ll know what I mean.
